The Mojave OGHESS8015A Energy Storage System (ESS) consists of the Mojave OGHI8048A inverter and the Mojave ESS lithium-ion / NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) battery. These products are designed to work in conjunction to add energy storage and backup capability to a PV system.

This system can be used to add energy storage and backup capability to a grid-direct (GD) inverter and PV system. It is designed to be “AC Coupled”; that is, the ESS is meant to be installed in existing grid-direct systems to add energy storage and backup capability without interfering with grid interaction.

The system has an integrated wireless (wi-fi) hotspot and can also be connected to other local networks, wirelessly or by using a physical Ethernet connection.

Adding energy storage & backup capability to your PV system has never been easier than with the Mojave ESS Packaged Solution.

Grid-Tie PV systems installed after 2017 with a continuous AC output less than 8kW work seamlessly. Simply wire your existing AC output for your existing system to the Mojave OutBack Inverter, connect the batteries, and wire the system to the back-up loads panel for power with or without the utility grid present.

The EnergyCell RE high capacity battery’s steel can (module) design concept, with its integral racking system, provides a cost effective battery system with a compact, quick and simple installation process.

The EnergyCell RE high capacity battery system’s AGM technology incorporates an enhanced cell design with a superior racking system. The enhanced cell incorporates thicker positive plates for longer life. The welded/epoxy dual post seal design provides the highest integrity seal in the industry. The large copper post design also enhances the high rate performance.

The EnergyCell RE high capacity battery provides excellent performance and service life in grid-tied, grid-interactive and off-grid renewable energy and UPS solutions.

About Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide Batteries

One of the most successful li-ion cathode formulas developed to date is obtained by combining nickel, manganese, and cobalt. Lithium-Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt-Oxide (LiNiMnCoO2), abbreviated as NMC, has become the go-to cathode powder to develop batteries for power tools, e-bikes and other electric powertrains. It delivers strong overall performance, excellent specific energy, and the lowest self-heating rate of all mainstream cathode powders, which makes it the preferred option for automotive batteries.

While NMC powder can refer to a variety of blends, the formula typically consists of 33% nickel, 33% manganese and 33% cobalt. This blend, sometimes referred to as 1-1-1, is a popular option for mass-produced cells in applications requiring frequent cycling (automotive, energy storage) due to the reduced material cost resulting from lower cobalt content.
