OutBack External Cooling Fan > Cooling Fan for the Outback FlexMax Extreme

The Outback Flexmax Extreme solar charge controller is designed to operate at its full 80 amp DC output at a temperature of up to 113°F (45°C). When that temperature is exceeded, the unit will begin to derate the amperage output based upon the temperature (for a chart that shows the derating levels, please see page 65 of the owner's manual). With the optional fan installed, the amperage derating does not start until the temperature reaches 131°F (55°C). The height of the controller with the fan installed is 22.06" (56 cm).
