Nothing beats the individual panel management offered by micro inverters! In the past, a shaded solar panel could bring down the power output of the entire array, much like a single dead Christmas light kills the entire string. However, by putting a single, small microinverter on each solar panel, this phenomenom can be avoided because the conversion from DC to AC occurs at each panel, rather than in a single central inverter.

Microinverters are also easier to install than central inverters, which are quite heavy and require a dedicated space near your array. These devices also make it easy to grow your system slowly over time, adding a single panel and microinverter at your convenience.
