IEEE 1547-2018 requires a local DER (distributed energy resources) communications interface located at the DER site. The IQ Gateway provides the local DER interface in Enphase Energy Systems.
IEEE 1547-2018 requires the local communications interface to remain available whenever the DER is operating. This indirectly creates a requirement for the IQ Gateway not to reboot during and following a low voltage ride through event. The IQ Gateway hardware was redesigned to meet this requirement so installers must only choose from the list of supported hardware and be running software versions 7.3.460 or later to be fully compliant.

The Enphase IQ Combiner 4 with Enphase IQ Envoy consolidates interconnection equipment into a single enclosure and streamlines PV and storage installations by providing a consistent, pre-wired solution for residential applications. It offers up to four 2-pole input circuits and Eaton BR series bus bar assembly.
The Enphase IQ Combiner 4 comes cellular hardware built in for up to 60 micro-inverters. The 4 IQ Combiner supports up to 80A total of PV / Storage Branch circuits. This versatile solution also supports networking through Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and offers optional AC receptacle for PLC Bridge. Supports up to four 2-Pole branch circuits for 240 VAC plug-in breakers (sold separately).
The Enphase IQ Combiner™ with Enphase IQ Envoy™ are for integrated revenue grade PV production metering (ANSI C12.20 +/- 0.5%) and optional consumption monitoring (+/- 2.5%).

NOTE: To ensure the best installation experience, Enphase is requiring that installers complete IQ8 training and certification online
to enable IQ8 system commissioning in the field
. For Enphase PV-certified installers, IQ8 training is an add-on qualification course and
for those who are non-certified installers you can access the training by
completing an online assessment through
Enphase University
.
We recommend having 100% of your installers take this certification course if you do Enphase installations.
