The Kestrel e220 employs
a unique variable-pitch 2.2 meter (7.2’) fiberglass rotor driving a
discoid axial flux alternator, which allows for high low wind
efficiency and full rated power output in all winds at or above 12 M/S
(25.76 MPH) without energy-robbing yawing or electronic shutdown.
Because of its large swept area and high efficiency, the e220 is a
great choice for low wind sites, yet is equally at home in high winds.
Suggested uses include battery charging, direct water pumping,
resistance heating and utility inter-tie (with an approved inverter).
